doug boardley

I'm gonna have to compromise, the pitbull...err...wife....is adamant that she wants them, so I''ll rip slate down on my wet cutter to various widths so at least I can get a 2-3mm joint in them, oh she doesn't want them coming down in a plumb line with the field tiles but wants them cutting into field tiles in a random jagged pattern, they do say that you shouldn't do work for engineers and teachers....why oh why did I marry an engineering lecturer:lol:

bluesky

just tiled a bathroom feature wall in a shower area with 2 alcoves in limestone split face tile (300mm x 110 mm piece )that varied in thickness from 20 - 30mm .area was 8 m2 .
left a 2mm joint between and then grouted using a pointing gun to try to minimise grout on rough tiles. bit of a pain to be honest but the finish looked fantastic !
whole shower area was tanked using mapei tanking kit from screwfix(very good product).
will be putting pics up soon and rumour is the house (and bathroom tiling etc )is going to be featured in a national mag !
