Stain in Decorativa Limestone

I am looking recommendations for removing a stain from limestone floor. Client claims that his painter may have split either paint, solvent ,or both. There is a dull ghost of the stain and splash marks. The stone was originally sealed with Fila MP90 and has a honed finish. I would like to remove the stain without damage to the stone and then reseal the entire area. Any advice is welcome.

Could really do with knowing what is was that was spilt.. was it paint and he tried to remove..? or a watery paint and solvent mix..? or just solvent..?.. is it a water or oil based paint... emulsion or gloss..? etc etc..

Oh and what limestone is it.. Decorativa isn't one i know by name..

Thanks for the reply Dave, I have not been able to verify what was spilt as no one is claiming responsibility.I I have been checking out products from Fila and Lithofin and yeah, we do need to know the nature of the spilt product to perscribe the correct solution. To me it seems like a solvent/thinners but without chemical analysis I can't be certain. I have spoken to the guy at Tile Doctor who reckons all things are repairable (after completing their coarse and with their products). Do you have any experience of Tile Doctor and their reputation?

.. and if that fails you could take the damaged tile out!

I have thought about that John, thing is there is an electric heat mat underneath which will most likely be wrecked when removing the stone. I have checked out Decorativa site, the stone is actually a very dense honed marble. It has virtually no veins, is very strong and 18mm thick. Does not behave like any marble types I have worked with before.
