been told stickoflex is a good way to stick large 600x600 tiles to a wall so the weight of the tiles does not pull them out of flush after they are fitted has anyone used this method.

its a product similar to No Nails but a lot stronger it would probably be a real expensive way to tile though.

used it for years in the boat trade very very strong but takes a good few days to go off and quite expensive

But does it make a tile adhesive ????

it comes in a tube much like silicone i have no doubt it would hold a tile to a wall but its not any better then any product made all ready, plus you would just have to use a dot and dab technique rather then full coverage, if you wanted full coverage im guessing 5 or 6 tubes per m2 and i think its over a £10 per tube so not really worth it

GaryS - no doubt it would be adequate for a display but it would not be a practise that could be considered on a professional installation.
However, many years ago putty was used to fix vitreous panels via a dot/dab method to rendered walls and if you ever had the pleasure of removing it - well it was well fixed.

I was told it could be used to prevent the movement from really heavy tiles ie 600x600 porc ect seems these tiles dont like to stay flush on wall if you do more than a few rows at a time.

If your fixing heavy tiles, do a couple of rows at a time on good supports with a fast addy.

sikaflex would take a day or two set set solid the chances of movement are quite high
