In order to be a FULL member of this federation you have to meet a lot of criteria. I have outlined below a SHORTENED coverage of the criteria.

1. Your company has to have been trading for 2 years and be able to produce accounts.
2. You have to be registered with the CITB or equivalent.
3. The company must be VAT Registered
4. Must have Employers/Public Liabilty Insurance as well as professional indemnity (Where applicable)
5. Suitable training policy
6. If anyone works for the company you have to show contracts and they cannot just be part time or casually employed.
7. Health & Safety Policy
8. You must attend at least one federation meeting per year.
9. You must adopt minimum payment requirements
10. You must abide by federation rules at all times

Once you have sorted all that membership starts at around £500 + VAT if your turnover is under £300K:thumbsup:

Well now isnt that a suprise ...!!!! Isnt it the case that us guys have to join or be associated to theses bodies because they are the gouverning bodies but then have to shell out and provide proof that only the ranked companies posess.

Its a shower of sh*t we work while these guys lunch out discussing contracts they can get because they are members

Oh yes there is help available Mr Tiler but if you aint one of us then you dont get to see the latest regs and open contracts shame really you havnt got the tie.............

My advice............read the list of board members and members...............they are all masonry Co's or producers.............they may talk the talk but they know nothing about stone that cant be found elsewhere..................Bo**loks to the tie, read the website keep up with whats going on on here and let them try figure out who they get to tile their bathroom over lunch.................

tiler.

Dan if you want give us a stone forum without a sponsor m8 I am more than happy to look after it so these guys have somewhere to get some help................

Wetdec I agree with most of the above but the Stone Federation GB does have some very useful help and systems in place for the Sole Trader/Stone Fixer much more so than the TTA. I have read the stuff from cover to cover and once I have ironed out a few ambiguites next week I am seriosly considering joining.
