Stonefix - gone under?

Heard that Stonefix has gone into receivership during the last week. Wonder if anyone will buy them up? Will it affect anyone in particular on this forum?

My friend has opened a tile shop up in Crewe, he told me last week when I was in getting some ultra

Well just a chance conversation so not offical. They had gone all out to grab market share with the product range - perhaps too much too soon? Had used it once or twice without issue.

I think the Stonefix adhesives were just re-bagged PCI.

they aint a part of BASf PCI that i know of they have sold Feb but still have Sontex and PCI but they may of made it for them as the make a lot of the chemicals for a lot of the big boys

Right,

I've just got off the phone to Phil from Weatherby group (who now owns Stonefix) and it's NOT Stonefix that's gone into Administration, it's STC or whatever it was that used to own stonefix.

So it's clearly been sold or just passed on or whatever, but you can still get Stonefix stuff and should be able to on-going.

That's the one mate yeah. I was mixing stonefix up with profix which is made in stoke (by BAL?) and thought for a moment it was profix that went under. Turns out neither have.

It's apparent that the Phil was with STP and is now with the Weatherby group. So I don't know if they sold all the assets to weatherby on some terms that phil went with them or what. Sounds a bit dodgy but clearly they're out of the deep waters now and for those that used them, they still can.

Good Morning Everyone.

Just clarify the situation for everyone after Spanish Tiler wasn't correct in what he said.

Stone Vale Masonry Ltd and Pure Adhesion Ltd are two companies which have nothing to do with Specialist Tiling Products (STP) who owned the brand Stonefix. Pure Adhesion Ltd is a stockist of Stoneifx, Lithofin, Mapei, LTP, Dry Treat, Dural, Thermonet etc - Total Independent.

Specialist Tiling Products went under and Wetherby Stone bought the brand Stonefix and now manufacture Stonefix Adhesive themselves. They have also continued the relationships that STP had with manufacturers for sealers and tanking etc.

I need to be clear that Stone Vale and Pure Adhesion are not and have never been owned by STP, Stoneifx, or any of their new or old directors. They are both still very healthy businesses supplying natural stone tiles (Stone Vale) as well as all the fitting products to go with (Pure Adhesion).

sorry if i got it wrong was only passing on what i had been told.

I used STP for my supplies for a couple of years from both sites and its a shame when a company comes to an end.
