stoping and starting grout.

hi there.
im doing a bathroom for a neighbour in the evenings and spare days. there is a new screed so i can tile the floor for another 4 -5 weeks (2 weeks down) as a result i cant fit the bottom row down on top of the floor .
there is a 1200 x 900 shower tray in the corner and a glass wall . the glass wall is in my garage on a big pallet and taking up the whole place. i need the garage to build a few cabinets next week. im sure she would like to get her shower working ( using ours).
could i grout just the shower area and leave the rest until the floor is done. or could i do everything now exept the bottom row obviously. will the colour match .
any advice

What colour is the grout?
it should match ok,I've done it before when floor couldn't be tiled as ufh not commisioned. Just dont use 1 bag for the top bit, then open a new bag/batch for the lower part

ivory i think. light colour any way. there is a 10 kg bag of weber . rusty coloured bag. should be good for 30 yrd2, shouldnt it

it depends on a lot of things alan, tile size, spacer size and depth of adhesive. see how far it goes when you grout the shower area and if needed get another bag of the same batch number

Some grouts require a set time before
being submitted to wetting from showers, this can be as much as 2 weeks.
Check with grout supplier for recommendations.

You can also use a vapour equalisation membrane to tile the floor earlier.

tiles are 450 x300mm. 2mm spacers.8mm notched trowel.
