Welcome along mate.
You are right about the screws that come with it......I found they were far too thick and chunky and if used near the edge they made it split-out.
Best screws I ever found are "NO MORE PLY" screws, nice and "thin", self tapping and they also countersink themselves flush with the surface of the board.
For the first time after viewing a HOW TO on here, I put flexible adhesive down underneath the boards, and it feel even more solid and robust......Good stuff.
