Swamp fever

Hi all, not really a question more an funny thing, been doing a slate kitchen floor and my Erbauer wetcutter throws a fair bit of water about and then it usually turns muddy after a while, all I can smell at the moment even after a shower is stagnant pond, anybody ever had this? 🙂

Slate has probably had everything soaked into it over thousands of years while it was in the ground, just my view.
