Tanking down to tray ?

Hi

Need to tank walls in shower cubicle with a shower tray, normally use Bal paste and sheets. Question is, what would you normally do when coming down the walls, do you normally lap it just over the tray edge ? enough to cover with tiles. If you just come down to the tray, what's to stop water getting through if the seal fails ? Are we just protecting the walls from water and not actually creating a waterproof area ?

What a numpty, just looked at no end of pages and the realised this is covered below this one . Anyone else have ideas ?

Run a bead of Silicon between the tray & wall to seal.

I use a Polymer tube stuff that sticks to anything and everything and can applied to wet areas as well.

the tape with the kit is to be overlapped by 6mm onto the tray also at base
