Time's Ran Out

Hi and thanks for your replies ,put my mind to rest a bit, was probably going to go modern method,but not yet certain

Old school gives depth of colour and patina build up - but more upkeep!.
Its the difference in having a floor with character and a .............floor.

I'd agree with Dave - they look fine for their age.
Have you tried a mixture of boiled linseed oil/white spirit as a seal. Try it on a small discreet area and don't allow it to lie on the surface for more than 10mins - wipe off.
When dry 24hours - buff up with natural beeswax.



Worked for me TJ for years, still does:thumbsup:

The old way is good but oxidisation of the linseed sometimes spoils after a while.


LTP Colour Intensifier and Stainblock


Description: Suitable for sealing wall and floor tiles and enhancing the natural colours, characteristics and appearance of travertine, quarry tiles, terracotta, brick, slate, flagstones, limestone, granite work-tops and tiles, terrazzo etc. with a matt finish. Provides effective resistance to staining from coffee, wine and other domestic fluids. Performs well in wet areas, including bathrooms and swimming pool surrounds. Maintain with LTP Waxwash on floors and LTP Stonewash on walls.

Tips: Suitable for interior and exterior use and on floors that have no damp proof course.

Is one of a few ways to seal and easy the after care.
