have been suffering with back trouble for a while and been waiting 3 months to see a specialist.wot gets me is went in today and told will be another 8 months before i can see him so i says ok then i will pay private and hey presto i am getting in now on the 2nd off july point i am making is you pays your NI contributions and have to wait ages but if you pay again so your paying twice a space suddenly appears:furious3:its time we protested about rip of britain lets do wot the french do and burn sheep and block the ports:furious3:
ah i feel better now i got that off my chest thats my rant over:yes:
 
Same thing in Sweden. For non-essential surgeries, the queue can literally be two or three years long! And the waiting time so see a doctor for non-emergencies, can be many many months in some parts of the country. Unless you go to a private practitioner, that is.
 
money talks....I'll bet whoever you see is the same person you would have seen in 8 months...that's why it takes so long, they do their private work as well...and we get slated (no pun intended) if our prices are high.

I agree with what you are saying Kev re having to wait. Much quicker to go private.

Just as a point of (dis)interest to everyone NI contributions are only used to fund the state pension and benefits. National Health Service is funded out of taxation. Not enough Doctors, Consultants, Nurses and beds. To increase it to realistic levels would require huge increases in taxation which the country as a whole would not vote for.

I think the NHS is dying on it's feet and some other way of funding health care is desperately required in this country.
 
Believe me other countries are just the same and if there is a language barrier even worse. No translators here for free.
