A friend of mine told me a story the other night which I assure you is True.
A certain person in the USA purchased 24 Very Very Expensive cigars. He then insured them against all risks i.e. Theft, Loss, accidental breakage etc etc and believe it or not Fire.
After he had smoked them he decided to claim against the insurance company under the fire risk.
The case duly went to court and the Judge found in his favour against the insurance company stating he had considered the case very carefully but had come to the judgement against the insurance company for taking on a policy like this including a risk of fire.
He ordered the insurance company to pay the claim of $15,000. The insurance company deliberated if they should appeal but in the end decided not to on the grounds the appeal might fail and it would cost them even more money.............................................................
So this is not the end of the story! The insurance company waited for the cheque to be cashed and then................................................
Wait for It.................................................................................
They Sued the guy on 24 counts of Arson. They took him to court he lost and it cost him a $24,000 fine and 2 years in jail..................................................:beatdeadhorse5:
