I was taught to flip over the tile to be cut, position it against the wall, mark edges of adjacent tile and deduct spacer plus 2mm. Not that difficult. But if it works for you and makes you happy...... buy it.

The thing with that gizmo is you'd need a different one for every size of spacer, as I assume the lip on the back of it is there to gauge the spacer width.

Hello mate, I've used this and for me it worked fine but its aimed at 4-5 mil spaceing

it works well m8 but for one size joint only, the better way of doing it is laying the entire row to be cut out, marking and cutting the whole row in one hit, saves a lot of time and the gap between tile and wall is identical, u could maybe get away with a smaller grout joint if there was skirting going along the wall to hide the gap. That said in the right circumstances, given it only costs a few quid it can do no harm

looks like a handy diy tool. the principle is good.
you could probably make your own ones for the other spacer sizes or plane off the reference lip to make it suite a smaller spacing

I normally use a 3mm packer for expansion and make up the spacer size with other packers so 3mm expansion + 3mm grout line = 2, 3mm packers. tape them together, flip tile over, put packers against wall push tile against packers and mark it. works well for me anyway
