Customer has a shower in an en-suite, all plasterboard walls. Ideally I'd rip out the walls and re-build but they don't want to cost. Bearing in mind this is a shower and existing tile size 30 x 20 portrait, new tiles 30x20 landscape, what adhesive should I use? I've used Whitestar before but only for splashbacks. I always score the glaze with my dremel and sugar soap 1st. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance!

This is what I would do, As your've said clean and rough up surface then I would use white powdered flexi adhesive, Can't remember the last time I used white star. Do they realise how much this is going to build up on the wall's, Oh, and another thing is what was used to put on the existing tile's, If a cheapy addy was used onto new plaster it could make the tile's unstable, Check for stability of existing tile's. As a last resort would they have the old tile's (If weak on the wall's) srapped off.

You always do as the customer asks and never give your own opinion as that way you dont get any comebacks. As long as you have included it in the price then remove prominent border and pack out, clean existing and I use a ready mixed waterproof tubbed adhesive. The customer must be made aware of the fact that your tile is fixed only as well as the one underneatrh and if they want you to go ahead then any failures they have been made aware off.
