Geez i can't believe some of the comments on here, Len you're on the money. You must take the guard off then you've got the lightest most versatile tool for cutting any shape, trimming ect.You can only do so much with a wet saw[it has it's place] geez just try it then comment, hope this helps

Well it’s nearly 6 years since this thread was started. I was wondering if ATS diamond tools could invent a ‘tile sander’ that would attach to an angle grinder?

I too ‘sometimes’ make a cut 1mm too big (it usually happens when I am running out of tiles because the customer has not bought 10% extra! Also, when I do window reveals I want to shave a smidgen off the tile to make the trim fit. I usually use the edge of a diamond blade on the angle grinder.

So has anything been invented in the last 6 years what would help Fekin and myself?

This is a 125mm "Vanity Blade" with an M14 flange (also available without flange at 22.23mm bore).

Designed for use with marble for cutting and shaping as well as side grinding. Both faces of the blade are electroplated with diamond.

Mostly used by masons for chamfering the edge of granite tops and generally working the stone.

There's no reason at all this wouldn't work on tiles, however the slower the speed the more control you have. These are regularly used on a grinders at 11,000 rpm - but on a porcelain I imagine that would result in chipping if you're not careful. A variable speed grinder would give more control.

These are considered consumables in the masonry business, we have customers buy these from us 20 or 30 pieces at a time.
