Yep. That's why the advice of putting the trim down the back of the tile is no good, because sometimes you may have a 9mm tile and a 12mm trim (not all suppliers do every size of trim), so the trim won't sit flush. Always put the tile into the trim, not trim into tile.

Bri and all thanku for being so patient! I know this is a tough one to explain without seeing how its done but I understand it now...will post pics of my job once its done.

When I did my course at Nett we pushed the tile trim into the face tiles...makes me wonder why we did it that way?

so Bri if you could only get hold of a 10mm tile trim for a 9.5mm tile you would have to leave a little depth in the reveal for the adhesive?

The video states to leave a 2mm gap around trim...do you guys do this? The tiler in this video says this is to prevent water ingress, but if you are using a plastic trim the grout will crack (expansion/contraction) where it meets the plastic and water will get in anyway? Also trim is supposed to protect the tiles from getting chipped on the edges, surely leaving a gap increases the chance of the tiles getting damaged?

i keep it quite tight to the tiles, a mm or so, thats just enough to grout. i think the trim is more to finish the corner off than to protect the tile. what s going to damage them?
