Tiled bath Panel

Looking for a bit of proffesional advice, I need to tile a bath panel, standard size bath. Would 9mm or 12mm ply be ok ? also is a standard tile adhesive ok on the ply if ply is to be used ? thanks in advance.

no ply would be a mistake plasterboard backerboard or cement board ete

i'd go for one of the many different tile backer boards if it were my install..

Wedi do a panel specific for baths, intended to be tiled.

yep same as pete.backer board or plaster board.but remember you may want to have a access panel at the tap end just to be on the safe side.

Steer clear of ply round the bath. Backer board all the way.

Ive just tiled a bath panel and that was 12mm ply Long as you prime the ply and use fast flex adhesive you will be ok

and make sure its marine ply - which might make backer board a cheaper option.

used to have this fight with bathroom fitters builders 25 years ago not to use ply in the bathroom i thought it was sorted think i will give up and go back to selling fish and chips :ban:

wedi make a bath panel that takes 10 mims to fitt and tile straight on to it . saves all that carp work
