Tilemaster vs Weber

The seta flex is going off slightly too quick at the moment but the benefit of tilemaster is they will listen to you and adjust the set time to your needs , no other manufacturer will do that . If you are happy using webber then keep using it they have great products, the levelling compound is one of the best on the market, and the low dust spf is alos very nice gear. I have used tilemaster for a few years now and am very happy with them and the grout 3000 is unbeatable in my opinion for porcelain
Lee@TileTown was explaining this to me the other day,

I am using the grout 3000 in a couple of weeks so shall see

That's odd mate, i never seem to get a problem with it............. But then since i started using Weber's products 2 years ago i have developed a slightly strange and worrying affection for most things Weber!! SPF low dust technology especially....could mix it by mouth it's so good :tt2:

This is the grout for stone.
Stone always sealed prior to grouting but have found (as Sir knows ) it's still soft a day or so later!

Ive never had this!?! When you say soft, how soft? Still moving when you touch it? What do Weber say?
grout 3000 is good for floors, but goes off to quick for walls, for me. Also it can be too sandy at times.. I'm not sure if that's down to the colour, or poor quality control!?!

Couple of tricks that might see you enjoy your experience using Grout 3000.....

(Im not trying to teach my nan how to suck eggs here either!)

Mixed with water using a mixer paddle, leave to stand for 2 mins, then give it another mix.
start grouting. before 10 mins is up, give it another mix.

Told this to most of fixers here and most seem to think it has made things alot better.

I've only upset G3000 once, found it similar in consistency to cal or webber (sticky and nice) I just used it as I would any other grout with no problems, dried in very nice colour with no patching.

yep. I've had a few bags like that, but the last bag I had was really gritty. same as the 1st bag I tried when it 1st came out.. I thought they'd improved the formula, but now I'm not so sure!?! I know it wasn't an old bag, as the shop I get it from doesn't hold much stock, so it gets turned around quickly.

After hearing a lot of hype over Tilemaster's adhesive's etc I thought why not give them a try as they are cheaper at one of my suppliers.

So far I personally find the Flexilevel does not flow as nicely as Levelflex.

The Setaflex 'Seta's' far to fast! No matter how wet it is mixed, I turn around and it's going off!
Weber SPF however is creamy in the trowel with a smoother consistency and doesn't go off like bugg3ry. (In my opinion)

Weber joint pro on natural stone floors is a NIGHTMARE ( on several jobs) whereas grout 3000 is ... (To be continued)
if you buy setaflex by the pallett as i do they will retard the rapid set by say an hour or two. no one else offers this and perfect for me with large format stone

Grout 3000 (continued - thanks to Lee@TileTown)
Used on limestone shower enclosure, worked out great and got all shower grouted in time to start washing off.

Lovely and smooth, very workable. Fantastic write up and wording on the bag.
Actually mixes when added to water unlike Weber grout which tends to float float float around then decides it's going to stiffen up and mix ..........now!

Where do you all buy the tilemaster i would like to try it if there is a cement-based one for swimming pools ??
