hi everyone my names jamie,i recently completed a 2 week course at the edinburgh tiler training school,i currently work as a chef but have wanted to change career for a long time now and knew tiling was something i was interested in doing.edinburgh tiler training school i beleive to be a relatively new company as i had researched previously into this but no training facilities came up at all in my area.
I was invited up to veiw the training facility and to meet anthony who runs the school and was extremely impressed by the proffesional layout and structure which was set up.
I decided to do the 2 week course to begin and can honestly say it was the most worthwhile 2 weeks ive spent working in years,i learnt a multitude of hands on skills from the guys there and also a lot of knowledge on tools, substrates, methods etc etc, also from leaving my first course there i was impressed in the fact that at any point they are happy to support you if u have questions or advice needed on jobs you are out on so its not a case of give me your money and goodbye, these guys really care about training you and work very hard at doing so.....a quick thank you note to anthony and both drew for all there help.cheers

Tiler Training School Scotland

Just finished my 4 week tiling course at the Tiler Training School. I was impressed with how much i learnt in the 4 week period. Especially the application appreciation lectures.

Ant and Drew were great and gave me loads of advice on getting work and pricing etc. I have just got all my tools and am looking to start my first job next week.
They even gave me a free bag of adhesive to get started.

I would recomend this course to anyone looking to start a tiling career.

Cheers lads.:hurray:

Re: My Own Course Recommendations

Anthony and Drew at the Tiler Training School at Edinburgh were absolutely excellent. A well run outfit that answered every question I had. The guys really go out of their way to help you out and make you feel welcome.
Just felt that I should big them up for getting me on my way to being a professional tiling wizard!

I had never laid a tile in my life before, and went on the 4 week professional course at the tiler training school. I went up and had a look around and Ant showed me the ropes and what to expect if i took the course.
At 1st i struggled with a few of the basics but Ant's patience and expertise guided me through and i feel i have come on leaps and bounds with his help.

Well worth the money and was pleased to know that phoning up after you have completed the course for a bit of guidance is not a problem, and have been on the phone a few times for a wee hint and tip since!

I bought all my tools from the school as i wanted to use the same make of tools i'd been using throughout the course, and i felt i got a great price and have not needed anything else-so i feel i went in a complete novice and came out a tiler-tools in all!! He even took the time out to show me the best way to load the van up with tools(may sound a silly thing, but it helps keep everything in order and tidy when you dont have the knowledge of doing jobs, keeping things accessable etc)

Overall, i was delighted with the course and have reccomended my friend to do it which i believe he is going to be starting in a few weeks.

P.S The cups of tea could be a bit better, but the sarnies were spot on!!

Hi everyone, my name is Keith and I have just completed a 2 week tiling course at the tiler training school in Edinburgh. I have been working as a raised access floor layer and decided to broaden my horizons and give tiling a go. This course has definately given me the chance to do so and have no regrets. Antony and Drew were more than helpful with every aspect of tiling, even after the course. I won't be telling everybody who lives local to me about this as they will take work away from me .On the serious side though I would recommend this to anyone wanting a change or simply deciding to brush up on their D.I.Y.

I completed the 4 week course at the Edinburgh Tiler Training School around 6 weeks ago now.

I cant speak highly enough of the lads at the Tiler Training School, from week one day one Ant & Drew made me and the rest of the guys starting the course right at home.

No time is wasted on this course and the lads keep the warm welcome to a minimum and then its right down to learning the basics, for me these where harder than most coming straight from an office job into learning a trade. However, there is no embarrassment with the guys and they have the skills and the patience to get your confidence up and set you on your way again with the next job in hand.

The Tiler Training School has everything going for it, great facilities, a brilliant atmosphere and two guys in Ant & Drew who get you flying through the course and out the other end with a whole new set of skills ready to take on your first job.

Cheers lads!

I'd recommend anyone thinking of training to be a tiler to pop down and see and Ant and his lads!

The school is well laid out, and after speaking to some of the guys he's already trained, everyone comes out with the confidence needed to become a competent tiler!

Not forgetting of course that Ant provides a full back up after service, so if anyone needs advice hes always at the end of the phone to help, giving you the confidence you need in case of emergencys!

Highly recommended, plus you get to spend time with Stu, worth the money alone!!!

Couldn't agree more with what everyone else is saying. The course was great. I done the 2 week course and learned so much.

From day one I knew it was going to be a good 2 weeks. Ant and Drew were brilliant, easy to get on with, good at what they do and always there to help.

After completing the course I was ready and confident enough to get out there and give it a go. Even after the course if there were any questions I had the lads were more than helpful.

Cheers

Paul Grant here, or Paddy as I was called, (for being Irish and all). Finished four weeks of tiler training about a month ago. I have to say, brilliant wee course at the Tiler Training School in Edinburgh. Ant and Dec, I mean Ant and Drew, really do help ya out for starting a new career as a tiler. I'd never tiled in my life, it really showed at the begining, but with the lads patience and help, and Stu's antics (have to mention Stuart, he's there comedian) you'll feel more at home rather than out at work. You'll learn so much in such a short period of time, even on the short courses, well worth the doe. Also, like the other lads that did the course, have been saying, you'll still even be getting help after the course is over.

Cheers lads, much appreciated.

Tiler Training School

I just completed a 4 week tiling course at the Tiler Training School and was really impressed with how much knowledge the guys have. The talks were really interesting and helpful but I'm still going to keep really my information pack because my memory isn't the best.

Everybody on the course was a great laugh aswell, (except Colin and he knows why). Hopefully we'll be able to keep passing jobs to each other in the future. (Good luck with the girlfriend Mike, hope she dosn't find out. HA HA!)

Cheers to Ant, Drew and Stu you really were a great help & I hope you enjoy the chocolates.
