Can you put "in association with CTD" and stuff like that without some sort of disclaimer?

Pro-Tech who you link to seem to refer to porcelenosa quite a bit but do porcelenosa know this?

Pro Tech is a company based in Cardiff who are going to be the fitting side of Porcelanosa for the South West. I think the point was made last year that Porcelanosa were sick and tired that the salesmen in the shops were handing out business cards for unqualified people. Pro Tech is going to shake things up a bit by insuring jobs from start to finish and bring in only qualified contractors on site.

Here's mine........... now I'm regretting not taking pictures of my jobs! Need to get some nice jobs in so I can add more pics.
Made it myself in about an hour or so, on webs.com

Tiling - Ceramic / Natural Stone - Home

If anyone from outside the West Midlands area would like to link to my site and me to theirs you are welcome, as someone mentioned earlier in the thread it helps on your search engine rankings if you have relevant links -so I'm told anyway!

You're right. It's one of the most crucial area's of optimising a website and often the area most overlooked. You can play with your website all day long to try and improve it's positions in Google, Bing and Yahoo etc, but without links, none of the search engines will love you for long.

Make sure you email/contact a few website owners yourself and not just put a request out. 90% will be happy to cross-link with you and you should find a good few hundred on this forum alone.

I suppose paying a few quid for a proper domain name wouldn't hurt either!

MessageMessagemistore suggestions to help your website get noticed.

When you are starting out we can suggest the following methods to help get your website out there!

Registering with the search engines

To help the search engines in finding your new website we recommend that you visit both of these websites and complete their online forms. www.submitexpress,com and also www.google.co.uk/addurl.

This will register your URL with the search engines and hopefully speedup the time it takes for your website to appear in search results. There is no exact time frame for when your website will start to appear in the search engine results and it is different from site to site.
If your website is a new domain you can't obviously expect to jump to the top of Google as there are 100's, sometimes 1000's of sites already on the web. However all is not lost... below are some suggestions to help you.

Set up your meta-data within your mistore website: Meta data is there to aid the search engines into understanding the content of your pages. I have a really helpful PDF document from Google which highlights how to fill in meta data, why it is important and some helpful do's & don'ts if you need it.

Simply add content: The more pages of relevant information on your site the better. The more informative you are on your industry the better. It's good to note that your home page or index page is very important. Make sure you include relevant keywords within the text on this page (e.g. mention where you are, what you're about and what services or products your offering. Try and make this text read as natural as possible.
Setting up a Google adwords http://adwords.google.com No matter what your budget, you can display your ads on Google and our advertising network. Connect with potential customers at the magic moment they're searching for your products or services, and only pay when people click your ads.
Build Links: Getting other websites to add a link from their site to yours is a great way to generate traffic and let the search engines know what your doing. An effect way to do this is for another site to hyper-link some key words that are relevant to your industry/business back to you. (e.g. making all text in this next sentence a live link - for brochure and ecommerce website design visit www.mistore.co.uk )
Register with business directories: Such as www.yell.com , ODP - Open Directory Project or Business Directory UK, United Kingdom | Free Business Directory or simply google search FREE business directories.
Register with Google Maps: http://Google.co.uk/LocalBusinessCentre Millions of people search Google Maps every day. A free listing on Google Maps makes it easy for them to find you.
Print advertising (flyers, poster, business cards, leaflets): Contact our sister company www.facemediagroup.co.uk for all your print requirements! Tel 0333 8000 888
Radio/Media Advertising: Multi-media advertising such as local/national magazines or radio can be very effective.
Word of mouth: The best FREE advertising is simply tell your friends and other local businesses.
Social network sites: Social networks are a brilliant way to meet new customers and to spread to word about your website. Check out www.facebook.com , www.twitter.com and www.bebo.com
Good luck!...

Sorry if this is a bit off topic but how many people on here use twitter or facebook as a business tool ?

If you check in the Marketing part of the forum you will find loads about using social media for business.

But to answer your question - some do and some don't understand it yet
