I just thought I'd let you know that we're aware of the slow loading of pages during peak times and are working on a fix. TilersForums has grown month by month and is often peaking in activity between 8pm and midnight (GMT) and along with the other forums that are also popular (ElectriciansForums being more popular some nights) it's having an effect on the server load.
We're going to see if we can tweak some settings tonight and monitor lots of stuff (my words, not the server management firms) and then if all else fails tomorrow we're ordering a higher spec server.
We've been fiddling with things we can tweak over the past few evenings and have improved load slightly but so far we've not fixed it long-term. We even had a guy sitting in a log and closing idle connections down one by one the other night and that's not cost effective for the management firm who certainly pay this guy a lot more than minimum wage and I'm sure they don't want him sitting in a notepad file erasing lines of code when they appear for hours on end.
So I'll keep you updated in this thread and apologise for any inconvenience in the mean time.
p.s. the server just rebooted so you would have lost connection but we wont be doing that again tonight. There's no need to report the slow loading or "internal server error 500" notices you might get as they automatically get reported to us. So just hang in there for tonight and we'll see what happens.
