Tiles How To Clean Off The Old Adhesive / Grout

hi all.................
may be you can help me
i have blocked up a door way in my bathroom and removed the shower and i need to re use the old wall tiles from the shower to cover where the door has been blocked up .
my question is how /or the best way of getting the old tile adhesive and grout and plaster of the back of the old wall tiles so i can re use them.
i have tried soaking them in a buck of water for a few months but not really dun any thing

that only works if it's a dispersion adhesive (tub gear) sounds like a cement based addy, got your work cut out there. By the time you chisel off the addy you will end up chipping and cracking the tiles. Easier to buy new, but if you really want to save them knock yourself up a wooden frame up to hold the tile whilst you work on them.

try an angle grinder with a grinding disc i had this problem the other day very messy but it did work
