tiles spaces 2mm...how do i clear out the old grout to renew?

hi all

its time for my shower area to be re grouted. i have 2mm spacing gaps. whats the best method ie correct tools to remove old grout and fill in with new white grout? is it worth sealing the new grout area? does this give longer life to the grout?

A fein multi tool with the correct attachment is probably the best tool for the job, but they cost a couple of hundred quid!

Or use a grout colourant.

As above...... Fein tool with correct blade takes a bit of skill when you have 2 mm grout lines. Using a grout colorant would be much easier if the grout us solid.

Hi Is the grout dirty or is it cracking?

If its dirty you can use something like ltp's Grimex will clean the grout.

Or if its cracked same as above use the fein multi tool.

thanks for all the suggestions. hiring sounds like the way forward. im not sure what type of tiles they are but theyre like beige marble effect. 600x300 ??? white grout which has discoloured and cracking so needs replacing.
