I love them all , the more fiddly the better, would this make a good poll Dave ?

Not been doing it very long but i'm willing to have a go at anything.
Turkish and i laid a 45m of Jura Limestone last month and i hope that's the toughest job i'll get, makes me feel that i can cope with anything that's thrown at me. Done large and small mosaics, travertine, and porcelain and enjoyed each challenge, haven't done slate yet but i've just measured a kitchen/utility/entrance hall and the customer was very keen on having it, so i guess it won't be long. Still i imagine my ol mucker Turkish will only be too happy to assist me, he's such a nice guy:tt2:.

:grin::grin:

I like a challenge so I love working with new stuff. Quality stone is my current favourite, particularly marble and travertine.

Do not like cheap, poor quality, poorly made modular mosiacs and crumbly cheap n nasty travertine - Grrrrrr:mad2:

i like working with quality stone and large formats, jobs in the mid to the top end of the market, dont like the fiddly stuff , mosaics , small tiles etc, pet hate is mosaic borders espesh with large formats, whoever thought up that one was def not a tiler... :mad2: :lol:

Yeah we thought so, but the tragic thing about that job was that i haven't seen it finished. The hand built oak kitchen units were delivered and plonked at one end of the room, so when i'd laid, grouted and sealed one half, the units were dumped on it so i could finish the other half.
There were all other trades on this job aswell trying to get their bit done so all sorts of stuff was being stored in the kitchen as it was the only finished floor on the job. Rolls of carpet, plumbers pipes, sparkys wire you name it it was dumped on my floor:furious3:. So i never actually saw it completely uncovered and finished.
And as for my back and fingers afterwards, don't even get me started:grin:

i tiled two 30m2+ bathrooms walls and floor back to back with 600x300 limestone and after felt like id went 10 rounds with mike tyson ,must be gettin old..:surrender:

HA!! sez you........:grin:...

agree with you Andy-p....Regular prob large format tiles 10mm thick and please Mr. Tiler we'd like these 6mm glass mosaics as a border all round the room....DER are you mad????? loved doing recently 80m2 900x450 porc floor and just finished 75m2 600x300 limestone..great to work with top money too!

Oh ....and I hate half tiling with chrome trims and lots of boxing to trim too...does anyone here enjoy working with chrome trims???

I like working with good quality porcelain... feels like I've done a propper job afterwards.

I quite like mosaics too.

It's just the biscuit ceramics I hate, take far longer than a 10mm porcelain job to complete.

Most of the work I do is porcelain.

Can't say there is a tile I have worked with so far that I dislike, plenty of **** fiddly jobs but thats not down to the tiles.
