Tiling a window reveal

How do I tile a window reveal? I think I should fix the reveal tiles first, with the trim...is it best to press the trim down on top of the adhesive for it to stay in place?

With the vertical tiles below the reveal, should I be using a batten, then tile up to them afterwards?

Where do I fix the trim exactly? I can't work out where the trim should start and finish to the exact mm, having a bit of a mental block haha.

Has anyone got any more tips?

Tile the "vertical" first using the highest point of the window as your mark. Cut ALL tiles to this so if the reveal is not level you will have a lip. This is good.

Then stick down your trim which will now be level.

Using a wee boat level to help you then want to pack out your reveal tiles to be level.

By doing this everything ends up level and straight plus it's so much easier than doing the reveal first and trying to get the wall to work.

Oh and please match up the grout lines...

Btw is this a DIY project? Have you set out your tiling etc? I ask because well... Of most of your post really. Your batten will already be in place and you will fix to your first full tile off the window ready to add your cuts up to the edge. Cut your trim to the length of the edge and mitre it. File down as necessary till they fit square.

Tricky things are windows. There's so many things to take into consideration. I think you'll find it helpful building a frame work within the window, lipping over and tiling up to the timber frame.
