How many tilers on here are earning a decent living, i mean £400 plus a week every week. Is it as Rosy as you thought...so if you have been tiling for less than three years let us know. I have been tiling for three years but only part time as i run another buisness, but when i tile i charge well for my services.

Its all good for me:thumbsup:. Averaging £750 ea week so far (labour only).

Of course, got to pay NI / Tax / Fuel / Holiday / Sick.

The critical things for me are cash-flow (getting paid on time) and constant work (getting paid regularly).

Some weeks are nice earners, some are ok, and some jobs you simply regret and learn from.

Anyways, its far more "interesting" than a regular wage paid direct into the bank each month!

Not earning a decent living yet. Not even enough to pay for my course and tools! However, it's good to read that you guys are doing good trade. I have not had jobs lined up one after another, which means I can concentrate on my current job and not worry about the start time of the next job. Saying that, I would like to be a little busier.

I always set my target at 1000 a week, most of the time I achieve this, I never have a problem getting paid as I always ask the customer if they internet bank, if they do then the funds are in my bank and cleared within about 3 days.....a lot quicker than if I have to bank a cheque and saves time as well.

Kerchinggggg!!!!!!

Turkish:thumbsup:

I've been tiling less than 3 Yrs and i must be honest its hard especially at the moment, but it also seems to be slow for other tilers in my area. I seem to be just ticking over at the mo so im averaging about £800 a month, Ive been quite lucky as I have just had a call to do some repair work for the local Mcdonalds store.....the best thing its a night job so I can just about see the £££££££signs:lol:

I too am only part time, but that is through choice. I tile because I love tiling and am not 100% sure if I would get the same enjoyment out of it if I was doing it day in day out and my mortgage depended on it. On average I earn between £400-£800 per month, thats weekends only (very occasionally and evening or two). Very nice little supplement to my income :)

I currently work as a technician 3 on 3 off and tile on the 3 off but not weekends. I have spent about 3k each year on advertising, Yellow Pages and local prints which has generated a good word of mouth so no Yellow Pages next year. I have all the tools i need and don't need anymore. I've worked out on average i could earn 40k a year if i worked 5 days a week and if i had work every day. Not being in the construction industry before hand has made it very hard to make contacts but i have quite a few now. Next plan is to bank money, about 6k would be nice so i can give up my day job and have a bit of security for when my back finally gives out or my knee sieze up!
