Tiling ensuite

HI all
talking to customers today & they are wanting me to tile their ensuite floor (about 3sqmtr) Previous tile job s cracking all over the place

Tiles will be on timber floor so my assumption is to remove all. Secure existing floorboards. Lay WBC ply (12mm ) then lay tiles using timber floor adhesive & a flexible grout. Is this about right ? How would you advise tiling into doorway. Previous job just cut a section out of the tile, leaving a gap of 20 mm in places which is filled with grout
