   Vorsprung (Progress) durch (through/via/by) Technik (technology)...

There are mosaics here, on Granary warf and the Jubilee Line, for example, but many others have been covered up, horror of horrors, and many tube station revamps are going for the clinical grey horror science fiction look, urrgh... but tiling like this would be wonderful, practical, and most of all cheering to all the commuters! An English guy once said to me that the English should have never coined the phrase "That'll do" as it's that that stops the love for doing that bit extra. I think that's right, I was really shocked and surprised when I first heard it, even though we do have that in Germany it doesn't get used for getting a job done, it just isn't in the German psyche, or it wasn't when I grew up there anyhow.

These pictures are wonderful, thanks!
