Tiling inside an Archway....Arghhh!!!!

I think you all need to read the whole thread and previous post from Tilesmasher. You will find that no one as far as i can see has slated Tilesmasher but have slated the job. Now look at previous posts and you will see he is finishing a job that another tiler started. Why? i dunno. As far as i can see all he tiled since his original picture in the 1st thread is around the arch. Ok its not perfect but the big question is about the joints that seem to be out in the right hand corner by a good distance.
We will only know the reason when Tilesmasher comes back on.

I dont think i ever attacked the guy but i did attack the job and yes its still rough.
Only Tilesmasher can put things to right...on here if not on the job.
You misunderstood my post Neale, wasn't saying you were attacking him mate. The rest of my post was trying to find some sort of reason for his problems, and I agree it is rough.

Hopefully TS will come back on and communicate with us. Somehow though, I think not.

makes interesting reading this post,as a few people have stated no one has any knowledge of the history of this guys job if he started it or not, dont expect him back as his confidence is going to be shot,i also appreciate this forum as it has tonnes of knowledge given which is great but ive got to say this is the 2nd time in as many days a verbal attack has been launched on someone for giving opinions and asking advice,,pretty poor. constructive criticism is good but shooting someone down is not.

TileSmasher could easily have halted any personal attacks, not that I've noticed any, by explaining the situation.
He never, even though he was online and reading the thread, as someone highlighted yesterday.

And being honest, if anyone posted a pic of a job like that, without explaining that it is not all their own work, I think they should expect criticism.
If we allowed a new tiler to think work like that was of an acceptable standard, what good would we be doing him or the trade as a whole?

no one answered his question. he was met by a barrage of negative comments about the rest of his work, now i understand where you are coming from regarding not accepting low standards but there are ways and means of addressing it,,and a dozen people jumping on a bandwagon is not the way.thats just my opinion on it peeps.

:huh2:
His question was answered several times.

Have a look back and you'll see.

Ok we have all said what we feel needs to be said, lets wait and see if Tilesmasher tells us the rest of the story. If not, lets just get on with it. Nuff said IMO

I totally agree,
The job as I see it is still much better than many I have seen done by fixers who have been at it for donkeys years.

Always difficult to tell the tone of someones comments when not face to face, feel sorry for TS, really hope he comes back because it would be awful to think he left because he thought he was being ridiculed. Constructive criticism is what us newbies need, just given in the right way with respect

Turkish:thumbsup:
