Hi
I am going to tile my kitchen floor with 600x 300 porcelain tiles
Half the floor at the moment is floorboards and the new extended bit is t&g wooden sheets
Most of the floor is solid when standing/jumping on it. a slight deflection in one end which might be a joist that needs fixing first
I am thinking of plying with 9mm exterior grade ply and screwing down every 300mm
I know i need to use a flexible adhesive
Does this sound ok, i tried to persuade the wife to go with 12mm ply but she is doing my head in about the step into the other room as it is! and wants me to use 6mm
Also i know you should not use pva on the ply, but should i put something else on it to make it waterproof. I picked up a BAL leaflet which said to use SBR? on the sides of the ply
Can anyone recommend a suitable flexible adhesive
lastly the z shaped door strips i have seen to fit carpet on one side and tiles on the other only accomodate upto 9mm. but if i use 9mm ply plus the tile and adhesive i am going to be stuck
has anyone seen a door strip that can accomodate this or have any ideas on how to deal with this
