Following a 9 week tiling course, I have been asked to look at a kitchen with a view to completely re-tiling the floor. The existing floor is laminate laid on top of a previous tile floor. A leak has ruined the laminate and the customer wants to remove the laminate and old tiles and have the floor completely re tiled.
My concerns are that removing old tiles from a wooden floor may be difficult without causing damage to the (floor boards). which would then need replaced. The kitched is fully fitted and not moveable
My initial thoughts were to remove the laminate and providing the old tile floor is stable, tile on top of the old tiles. Any special prep needed to the old tiles if this is way forward?
Any assistance appreciated.
Regards
