I am using 445 x 315 tiles on bathroom walls, the last one I did had uneven walls with a 'bow ' of about 30mm into each corner from the centre of the wall.
I managed to even it out using extra adhesive, is this the way the pro's would have done it.
In my next bathroom I am tiling on top of old 150 mm sq tiles in some places in others will be backing with ****panel to replace cupboards.

Many thanks for your help.

30mm is a lot to pack out with adhesive. I assume you used powder adhesive with those size tiles?

The "pro's" would have straightend the wall out first before commencing the tiling. Tiling is much easier on a flat surface. For that sort of deviation, dot and dabbing plasterboard onto the wall would probably have been the way to go.

If possible for the next bathroom, you would be better to remove the old tiles first and make the walls good. However if that is out of the question, make sure they are securely fixed, tha wall is stong enough to support the extra weight, then clean with sugar soap, let it dry and then tile with a flexible adhesive (preferably powder based, or BAL White Star if you must use tubbed stuff) and grout with a flexible grout.

I made the mistake of assuming the walls were straight because of the tiles there, where I removed the bath and WC etc. I skimmed the walls, not thinking the rest of the wall would be out by that much.
I'm using bagged Mapei adhesive and grout as thats what my nearest Trade Depot sells, nearest CTD is further away.
