Tiling onto cement render

Weber may do a quick drying ready mixed render suitable for this which you would only need to add water to. Also have you considered browning? Sovereign would suggest a tanking solution for the brick followed by their universal one-coat plaster but I'd need to check on the tiling weight issue before confirming its going to be suitable
 
Thanks everyone I appreciate your advice! The other solution here is to render the bricks for strength and to level the wall up (Victorian brick work lasts but is massively pissed), then plasterboard and tile onto the flat plaster board? If I do this what precautions do I need to take?
