Tiling onto floorboards

Hi got a floor to tile floorboards are in great condition would it be best to board it out with 6mm board or use flexi addy thanks

I'd still use the 6mm backerboard if it doesn't cause a floor height issue...

Unless height is an issue i`d board it. If you use 6mm board i think for guarantee purposes you will still have to use something like fastflex. If not just make sure boards are secure, maybe consider a decoupling membrane.

I would'nt tile straight on to floor boards, and i think building regs state a minimum of 15mm ply, well thats what i use anyway.

I'm not a lover of tiling straight onto floor boards etc.......but if solid then Fastflex is the way to go.....

Thanks for the replys lads i think 15mm boards will causes to much of a step so guuna go with 6mm what sixe screws do you use i dont want to be hitting any pipes lol

Choose screws no longer than the thickness of the boarding plus floorboards, that way you won`t be hitting any pipes!
