Tiling onto plywood

How to prepare plywood which I want to tile, WITHOUT using backerboard. The problem is that due to my measurement fault:mad2: I cannot use backerboard and I have to tile straight on to ply otherwise I would not get the effect which I want.
I am talking about tanking which is hiding downpipe. Any help please?

you can tank it or use something like pesalastic depends where and what it is
