Hi,
I am planing to update my kitchen and intend to lay new ceramic or porcelain floor tiles. I built the house myself 12 years ago and istalled a wet underfloor heating system which is just fantastic. The existing ceramic tiled floor is still in excellent condition, sound and level and I would normally be quite happy to fix the new tiles on top of them.
My question is this, does any one know if a second layer of tiles will have a detremental effect on the performance of the underfloor heating? ( i.e the bedding layer of fixer could create some air spaces ) I know removing the existng tiles will not be easy and would like to avoid that if possible.
Thank you.
