dou know the kind of weight this tanking system can hold regarding tiles?
i have not chosen any yet, just want to know my options. If weight was an issue, could you screw 6 mm hardiebacker over the tanking over the plasterboard and into studs, would this increase holding capacity in your opinion?

off to the shops in a bit and want to go fully armed!

No, do not fix hardi over it! It depends what tiles are you fixing up. If real stone then better to use marmox or wedi instead of plasterboard

Yeah you could do with knowing what tiles you're fixing first I think. Plasterboard is better than skimmed plaster, but your tile backer boards fixed to studs are the way to go with heavy tiles.

i'm a carpenter by trade and I'm pretty good, but when it comes to doing things in my house, I'm always indecisive! Knowing the cost of things and knowing that I work hard for a living, I always tend to over engineer things.

I use Mapegum wps and Mapeband corner tape, I think you can get a shower waterproofing kit with everything you need in it including a primer.

Hi guys,

found some homelux wall sheeting for£42 and I know some of you guys like sheet rather than paint on.
there won't be any problem putting it on horizontally one above the other with an overlap, Rather than top to bottom? My shower is .8 x 1.8 m 3 sided. This way I eliminate any join in the corner.
if I go this route, shall I go to the floor, or fit the tray and over lap with the tray?
