Tiling to floorboards

Hi peeps had an enquiry about tiling an conversatory floor,which has floorboards,I'm I right in saying,I can glue and screw 6mm hardi backer board then tile onto?

What's under the floor boards.....seems odd to have floor boards in a conservatory.......is it a solid floor underneath?

I ain't seen it yet,only had a brief chat on the phone,what do you mean by solid underneath?would it been worth taking a board or 2 up

I would of imagined it's a screed or concrete floor in a conservatory. Doing it out in joists and floor boards seems a bit odd, Id have a good look and check out what is going on under the floor boards if it were me mate

Ok will do,so saying if it was concrete.hardi backer 6mm on top OK or can I use ditra mat?

If it's concrete or screed on good condition, clean flat level then a sites would be fine, also depends on the size, but if it's had floor boards put on top of a concrete floor I'd be asking why this was done,

Very true whitebeam, don't see that much round my way so didn't think of it, mostly see that set up over a compacted dirt or hardcore floor out here in the backwoods lol
