At the stage you are at it might be advisable just to use a larger bead of Silicon and put it down to experience!
Next time you could lay the lot out dry first, without cuts, and save the headache.

Cut the mesh and adjusted the spacing over 6 rows and you'd be very hard pushed to notice any difference in gaps, pleased with the result.
