Tiling to plasterboard

I always prime plasterboard (if tilebacker board can't be used) with 2 coats of Gypsum sealer, which then gives it a water barrier;its good at protecting the face of the boards should you have to remove adhesive/wallpaper in the future.

Gypsum make a dedicated 'Drywall Sealer', which is not to be confused with Drywall Primer. Given 2 coats of sealer provides a decent enough barrier or at least that's what I've found in the properties that I manage. Famous last words! It's quite expensive at around £40 for 10 litres.

I use this with 'best of a bad world' in mind.

Is it suitable fo ruse with cement based adhesives as in it prevents Ettringite failure?

just use a acrylic primer,bal grip adhesive and a quality waterproof grout

What waterproof grouts do you use..?
