Worked on the same site as a couple of lads without papers .they arrived with a bucket a small glass cuter and a roll of string needless to say the work wasnt of the best quality.was also amazed to see them jump 3 storeys out of an appartement window when the passport control police arrived on the site. Made of rubber they were.

I was using 3mm tilers string Friday on a Crackle glaze job. Worked a lot better than spacers due to the wavy edge of the tile.

Nope used it a few times but mostly forget about the method. The string has been in my tool box for years.

Been a few years since I've used the method it can work well on certain jobs.

Same here but I was struggling with the spacers to start with, then I remembered the string in my tool box. Wont be using it every day though.

Was it a domestic job ? never had reason on domestics, big back of house walls in eatery type jobs and it's a doddle 😀

It was a bathroom, bit of a fiddle with shorter walls but worth it.
