Dear forum,

I am now in the position to make the leap to full time fixer.
A bit like superman going from nappies to tights.

Talking to a mate at a party the other week, who finally remembered that the husband of some-one he works with owns a building company and might have some work to put my way.

Having met with the bloke, i have now been offered the chance to work (self employed) for them as their fixer. They have taken on a contract which is 155 flats spread out over 10 stories that due to it being grade 2 listed has to have all the wet riser system changed - whilst this is being done a lot of the residents are asking for other work to be done - I now have to give the guy an answer on Monday to getting on board. They currently have 6 bathrooms and 4 kitchens nearly ready to go (No time scale) but about 1 room a week and all the fixing is mine.
I currently use N&C for my gear (40% discount) and a larger discount for bulk buy.

They have already qouted for the work, so as long as i dont take the p*ss the work is mine.
So the 30 day notice goes in on Monday and then i start working for a living.
Happy days(possibly)(probably):hurray:

Guys thanks for the congrats,

Supposed to have put my notice in today (18th Feb) but having spoke to the contractor they have said that i should hold back a bit until we have the prices/money sorted. I totally understand and appreciate the way they dont want to mess me around and have me turn up when the jobs are not ready - Not tiling - Not earning (New moto). To be honest - I actually feel sick at the thought of this, but the futures bright, the futures tiling. Have any of you read the book "Who moved my cheese" if not then i highly recommend it(It helps if your undecided).

I'll keep you posted.
Cheers Guys.
Albert
