Tips on making a template for an archway

This is my first archway tile project. I usually design tile murals for square or rectangular spaces. This has really got me thinking. How do I make a template of this archway, so I can lay the template on the tiles and cut them accordingly, before I start designing? any practical tips on how to go about making a template, and what materials to use would be greatly appreciated.

Could you not use some lining paper to mark out the shape, then tape the strips together?

Cut a piece of plasterboard to the size of the opening, then split it half veticaly.
This will allow you to scribe one side at time to fit.

Then once both sides are scribed to fit then simply transfer to ply and then you have a sturdy template to work from..

or a sheet of hardboard find the circumferance of the arch transfere to hardboard ading a couple of inches, cut out, then offer it up to the arch and fine tune
