well looking at the new warm up box and the picture caught my eye would you fix electric under floor heating
directly to the ply then tile

No I would put insulation boards down first...

Yes I would and have in the right circumstances , but I slc over before tiling and uncouple when using stone..

Same as Dave, I would fix to the ply (if I really had to) but I would want the cables into slc.
I'm actually fitting a heat mat tomorrow for a guy on top of ply (he's never done it before) but I've stated that there's no come back to me as I'm not too comfortable fitting to ply.
Time will tell as they say.

I did it once. Under 40m2. It was plywood primed. Fiberglass mesh on top then warmup loose cable then slc then tiles.
It was kitchen and dining room so 2 zones and as customer requested no expansion joint between zones. Tiles was wood lookalike planks 900x150. Did that 4 years ago and it still look good.

I've fited ufh on 18mm marine ply that was glued and screwed into 3x2" which were also glued plugged and screwed into a concrete base in a small conservatory...it cracked porcelain, never again!!

well ply kept in a builders yard will be exsposed to moister a site with no heat will increase this so turn on the heating whats the out come on ply
