I know in these ecconomic times it is a nice problem to have but i am totally stressed out as i have took on too much work ,the trouble with trying to expand as a tiler into a tiling contractor is that you need to employ people ,thats where most of the problems start ,you take years to build up a good name for high standard work and reliability only to have that spoilt by tilers who make bad errors of judgement or lack tiling ability ,customers always want you and you alone to do their work so be warned dont take on too much or you will end up like me at the moment stressed out ,upsetting customers and making mistakes ,the trouble is with it being in a recession there is a risk of saying yes to everything that comes along and being left with egg on your face when a subby lets you down or doesnt quite meet your usuall standard :mad2:

get yourself out around the tile shops and call all your customers to see whats in the pipe line, i did a repair for one of my builders last week on a job i tiled last year while i was there he said he has a big job for me at the end of the year with a swimming pool 8 bathrooms and the ground floor of a house so even if its a small piddling repair job do it as they often lead to bigger things good luck with finding work doug

I hear you...I hired a guy a few years back, he convinced me that he knew what he was doing....I set him up on a simple basement bathroom job with a tub surround and a 35 sq ft floor with cove base......he set the entire thing in about 5 hours :yikes: , and boy was it BAD. :mad2::mad2::mad2: We went over the next day and tore everything out with a screwdriver and a putty knife. It all went into the dumpster and I had to work around the clock over the weekend to get it redone. By the time I paid for new material, and all the overtime, I lost my bum on that one.
