Tool boxes or tool bag

What sort of tool box or bag does everyone use my beloved B&Q box has finally packed in after 7 years , so am looking for a new one !

hand tools go in gorilla tubs, actually so do a lot of power tools as I don't put them back in their cases

I've started collecting the dewalt stackers, great boxes but bad prices. I got mine from a tool fair and they were pretty cheap. I should of bought more.

1 toolbox for prep handtools,1 toolbox for tile handtools,1 toolbox for screwdrivers and plumbing bits and a toolbag for the cordless tools ,laser and moisture meter which i bring in from the van every night for safekeeping.:smilewinkgrin:

Joinery, Electrical & Plumbing stuff are in their own Dewalt tote bags on designated shelfs.
Tiling, Plastering & Decorating also have their own shelfs & grab what I need.
Power tools are in their own boxes.
Screws & Fixings are in Stanley Fatmax cases.

All hand tools in buckets and Stanley toolboxes for me. All power tools in cases, they cost a lot so keep em protected.

One Stanley tool chest with most of my power tools in, one with most of my general tools in, the rest is normally in designated spaces on the shelves. That is unless I've packed up in the dark or cold or both. Then my tools will be wherever they landed when I threw them in!!

tiling specific tools in a stanley tool chest with 2 lift out trays for smaller bits
mini grinder in small stanley box,
mixer in box,
power tools in box or festool systainer
electrical tools in a tote and electrical fittings etc in a stanley box with organiser on top
plumbing tools in a medium box ,fittings in a cantilevered metal box, waste fittings in a plastic tool box
you see where this is going
the only tiling tools i dont have in a box are my levels and my larger sigma (smaller one is in a stanley tool box) but thats the joy of having a supirior machine.


pritty much all my tools of every kind are in some kind of tool box . ever the accesories for my stationary tools are in a small box

I just pile everything in my washboy and a gorilla tub. Saves on trips to the van as you've gotta bring both of them in to the job most the time anyway

Got one of these last month after my old box fell to bits and was running out of space:

Only downside is that the top tray doesn't detach, but keep trowels, hammers etc in the base, screwdrivers/chisels in the middle and small tools in the top.

Used to have power tools in their individual boxes but most of them fit into a couple of Bosch Sortimo boxes now

Most hand tools in a tool box, trowels in an ex recycling box, occassional hand tools in another ex recycling box, power tools in their cases. I try & keep my van tidy - everything in its place and a place for eveything.

I'v tried various ones over the years, fat max etc boxes, bags and lately totes !!
But i 'v now bought two Dewalt tough boxes, a 400 and a 300 one! they lock together too which is great for stacking etc.
I'm using the 300 box for all my day to day handtools and the 400 is for the heavier stuff.
My power tools are all in their proper boxes.

why do you need massive tool boxs?

you only need a pair of nips, tape measure, trowel, hammer, screw driver ,stanley knife, pencil......lol

i used to think that way but i found that i never had the tool i needed even thow i thought i had it.
i then put everything in boxs specific tot he tool or job being done. i now find that i have everything i need or nothing
