Tool insurance

Does anyone have insurance for their tools whilst they are in the van? It's really not very practical to empty the van every night, I take all the big stuff out like cutters, but all the small bits stay on, probably a couple of grands worth. Do any companies do this sort of thing? I asked direct line when I renewed my van insurance and they will only insure tools if they are in a locked garage overnight.

Some public liability does overnight tool coverage up to certain amounts. Does no harm having it for £20 a year.

I have my liability with direct line as well, they will cover the tools, just not on the van so I suppose I'll just have to buy it separately.

I catalog used all my tools and have it saved on my computer in case I ever get done I guess I would claim on the house insurance not sure if they would pay out for professional items though I will look in to getting some
