This is sort of related to phils theft from his van.

A plumber I was chatting to yesterday had his van broken into but there was no damage, as it works out he has a camera situated outside his house so watched what happened on his 24 hour system.

It was 2 young scumbags but what they had was some kind of small digital equipment and was scanning his van (older ford transit) and saw his cab lights came on, they just opened his doors and had a search.

He had a new boiler in the back van which was worth a grand but they were,nt interested, they then went thru the cab and the plumber said there was a sat nav which they never touched it or never saw it, what they was after is anybodys guess.

He now has new alarm system fitted for £270.

Not heard of these types of thefts using digital equipment, wondered if anyone else has heard of it.

I have heard of it, but I have never seen it on footage. Scary stuff. Deadlocks or van vaults are the only way to combat it

Seeing this is in the arms........ there are gadgets on eBay that do this. Should be banned

I've see a focus RS with push button start broken into using the ODb port to activate ignition.

They had to pop the window though but used a spark plug so it silently shattered AND DIDNT SET THE ALARM OFF!
