Hi all completed NETT course 2 months ago done about a dozen jobs. Got a kitchen splash back to do tomorrow. Should i start from work surface or use a batton.

If worktop is level just put a 2mm spacer between the worktop and tile mate.

Dont make work for yourself mate, if the cuts at the top arent dictated by where you begin at the bottom (basically can get on with it bottom up), no need.

Well if it was the same course i went on he should have unless he didn't listen,still there is a lot to take in so can easily be missed.

You must have went to the toilet when we covered this, you should have this written down in your book, only start with a batten if the work suface is running off, Like the rest says start off from the bench with a 2mm spacer underneath

Glad you mentioned that because i had a splash back where the first work top was level but the return worktop ranout by a few mill ,my laser level is great for this i just make a mark at the top of the tile several times along the worktop then just put my laser level along the marks tells me instantly how my worktop is running .
