top tips for getting started

New to the game only been tiling a few months but really enjoying it.
Has any one got any top tips for advertising and getting your name out there.

:welcome: To the Forum. Quite out there at the moment but always good to tell EVERYONE you know meet and talk to what you do. Don't be shy about handing out your card talk to Friends and family ask them to ask their friends. Always seek recommendations from work you have done recommendation is the best source of business. try newspaper ads,leaving cards in builders merchants,tile outlets,diy stores also try posting leaflets through doors phoning local plumbers,joiners,kitchen and bathroom companies,shop windows etc

hi and welcome you could try placing a business card under wiper blade of builders plumbers cars plus all the above :8:

As everyone has already said, it is just a matter of getting yourself out there and making sure that everyone you meet knows what you do.

Basically network with all tile and adhesive outlets and as many related trades as you can. It is worth spinning the "just moved to the area" line so as not to appear too "green".

When quoting jobs, try not to come across as desperate or niaive, just be confident and authoritive. When the customer asks how soon you can start don't be afraid to say that you have been let down by a builder/plumber/plasterer and therefore have a slot available in a couple of days. Tell the customer that you will drop the price by a few quid as a goodwill gesture for him helping you fill those few days at such short notice.
